"Be Bold" No-Essay Scholarship

The $25,000 “Be Bold” Scholarship is a no-essay scholarship that will be awarded to the applicant with the boldest profile. Bold.org provides the opportunity to showcase your goals, achievements, and drive to scholarship panels via your student profile.

The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose profile is most bold, according to these characteristics. Earnest, Determined, Moving. To us, boldest does not mean “best”, or “most accomplished”.

"Voice of Democracy" Spoken Essay Competition

Students across the country submit recordings of themselves reading essays they have written out loud, focused on the role of democracy and patriotism. Students in 9th-12th grade are welcome to apply, and should send finished recordings to their local VFW post. State finalists receive all-expenses-paid trips to Washington, D.C. and scholarship funds.

The Voice of Democracy Program is open to students in grades 9-12 enrolled by the Oct. 31 deadline in public, private, parochial school, or home study program in the U.S., its territories or its possessions. Dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in overseas schools are also eligible to participate.

AXA Achievement Scholarship

The AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation. In addition, for every student who wins a scholarship, a grant in the amount of $1,000 will be made to the winner’s school. AXA Scholars must exhibit the following characteristics: ambition and drive; determination to set and reach goals; respect for self, family and community; ability to succeed in college. Special consideration is placed upon STEM related projects and demonstrated entrepreneurship. Opens in September and finishes in December.

(1) Demonstrate the ability to set and reach goals, as shown by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities—especially those that lessen risk to health, safety, the environment, or financial security, (2) Be high school seniors planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States, (3) Be a United States citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.

Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarship

Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service. All high school seniors are eligible to apply. The majority of awards are for $1,000, but three students each year are offered $50,000 scholarships. Application opens in October and closes in December.

Cameron Impact Scholarship

This four year, full ride scholarship is awarded annually to 10-15 talented high school seniors by the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation. Applicants should have at least a 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale, demonstrate leadership through community service and extracurriculars, and receive letters of recommendation. They will attend an annual leadership summit as well. A quarter of the scholarships awarded are reserved for individuals pursuing careers in education, government nonprofits, or the military and have a professional goal of public service.

(1) Unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher, (2) U.S. citizen, (3) Graduating in spring 2021 and enrolling full-time in college in fall 2021, (4) Passion and commitment to extracurricular activities, (5) Strong leadership, (6) Emphasis on community service and civic engagement

Coca-Cola Scholars

150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive $20,000. Winners travel on an all expenses paid trip to Atlanta, GA for Scholars Weekend, and receive access to an exceptional network and family of dedicated current and former Coca-Cola Scholars. Recipients have up to 10 years to use their scholarship funds, and may use these funds for tuition, laptop costs, study abroad expenses, graduate school, and more.

(1) Current high school (or home-schooled) student attending a school in the U.S. (or select DoD schools) who will graduate during the 2020-2021 academic school year, (2) U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on the guidelines utilized by U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid eligibility, (3) Will receive high school diploma during current academic year, (4) Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution

CollegeBoard BigFuture Scholarships

There are no essay, minimum GPA, test score, or citizenship requirements. It’s easy to enter scholarship drawings each month. Simply complete one of the steps before the deadline, and you’ll be automatically entered to win $500 and $40,000! Students whose families earn less than $60,000 a year have extra chances at scholarships because they’re eligible two entries each drawing.

Open to US-based high school students in the class of 2023– no essay, minimum GPA, test score, or citizenship requirements.

Courage to Grow Scholarship

This simple, monthly scholarship offers junior and senior students of all backgrounds the opportunity to submit a 250 word response to why they should receive these funds, and a student is selected at the end of each month.

You must be a junior or senior in high school or college student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or better. U.S. citizens only please.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

Hispanic high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher are eligible to apply. While there is an emphasis on STEM fields, students from all academic interests are encouraged to apply. Awards are based on the relative need of the student to help make college a reality. A letter of recommendation is also required.

(1) Must be of Hispanic heritage, (2) Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students, (3) Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the US, for the 2020-2021 academic year, (4) US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA), (5) Complete FAFSA or state based financial aid application (if applicable)

Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program

As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.

(1) Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation with plans to enter a U.S. College no later than the fall following graduation, (2) Exhibit a strong commitment to complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution), (3) Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required), (4) Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, (5) Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, (6) Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and (7) Be a U.S. citizen

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship

An undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need seeking to attend the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. College Scholars receive up to $40,000 per year, college planning support, and the opportunity to network with the larger JKCF Scholar community. Up to 40 College Scholars are selected for this program each year. A rigorous application review includes analysis of grades, standardized test scores, participation in available advanced courses, student essays, letters of recommendation, and family finances.

(1) Plan to graduate from HS in Spring 2021, (2) Plan to enroll in an accredited 4-year college in Fall 2021, (3) Cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, (4) Unmet financial need (Applicants with a family income of up to $95,000 will be considered. Median family income of recipients was $35,000)

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

Awards multiple scholarships to qualified minority high school seniors, with an emphasis on community service, leadership potential, and financial need. Requires a letter of recommendation, multiple essays, SAT or ACT scores, and a professional photograph.

(1) Graduating HS senior, (2) Plan to attend accredited 4-year college, (3) Demonstrate leadership potential, (4) Dedication to community service, (5) Evidence of financial need, (6) US citizen, (7) Minimum SAT of 1000 and or ACT of 21, (8) Does not possess an associate's or bachelor's degree

McDonald's HACER National Scholarship

This scholarship is one of the largest scholarships available for Hispanic students. It awards a total of $100,000 ($25,000 per year for the 4 years) to 5 students as part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities program. This is a competitive but highly valuable scholarship that all Hispanic students should try to apply for.

(1) High school senior, (2) Legal U.S. resident, (3) Younger than 21 years old, (4) Minimum 3.0 GPA, (5) Eligible to attend a two- or four-year college full-time, (6) Disclose other scholarships applied to, (7) Enroll in an accredited institution following graduation, (8) At least one parent of Hispanic heritage

Niche $50,000 "No Essay" Scholarship

The $50,000 “No Essay” Scholarship is an easy scholarship with no essay required! Only one entry allowed per person. The winner will be determined by random drawing and then contacted directly and announced in Niche's e-newsletter and on the Scholarship Winners page.

All high school and college students, as well as anyone looking to attend college or graduate school in the next year. Please note: Not everyone is eligible for this scholarship. Niche sponsored scholarships and sweepstakes are for people with US citizenship or a valid Visa/US passport only.

Paradigm Challenge

This scholarship is open to anyone between the ages of 4 to 18. Applicants must use STEM skills in order to create new problem-solving ideas. The contest theme is different every year, but is always related to helping the community. Grantees will also receive support in translating their ideas into real-world products along with the money.

Students aged 4 to 18 (as of the date the entry is submitted) around the world are invited to enter The Paradigm Challenge individually or as teams of any size. See the Challenge Rules for more information about who can join The Paradigm Challenge.

Pell Grant

A Federal Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. The maximum Federal Pell Grant award is $6,895 for the 2022–23 award year (July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023). The amount depends on your financial need, costs to attend school, status as a full-time or part-time student, and plans to attend school for a full academic year or less.

Federal Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate students who display exceptional financial need and have not earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree. (In some cases, however, a student enrolled in a postbaccalaureate teacher certification program might receive a Federal Pell Grant.)

Pell Grant

QuestBridge College Match Scholarship

Questbridge, a national nonprofit focused on making college accessible to low-income students, operates their College Match program to connect passionate students from disadvantaged backgrounds to 39 selective partner colleges. These schools, including highly prestigious colleges like Yale, Stanford, and Brown, offer full, 4-year scholarships to all Questbridge Finalists that are matched with their school.

(1) Graduate HS before summer 2021, (2) Plan to enroll in college in fall 2021, (3) High academic achievement (see website for details), (4) Significant financial hardship (typically, a houshold income <= $65,000 for a family of four), (5) Remarkable personal circumstances/adversity

The Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential.

(1) HS senior, (2) From at least one of the following ethnicities: African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian & Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American, (3) Pell-eligible, (4) US citizen, national, or permanent resident, (5) Minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3

United States Senate Youth Program

In this government sponsored program, two high school juniors or seniors from each state and the District of Columbia spend a week in Washington experiencing their national government in action. Students will meet and hear from senators and potentially supreme court justices. All costs are covered by the Hearst Foundation, as well as a $10,000 scholarship award for future college studies. Deadlines vary by state, but many are in August, September and October. Cannot have previously received a USSYP scholarship or been a delegate to Washington Week.

(1) Show leadership by serving in elected or appointed positions, actively representing a constituency in organizations related to student government, education, public affairs and community service (2) The primary purposes of the leadership position must be representation of a constituency and service to others (3) Student must be a legal permanent resident or citizen of the United States, or be in possession of their I-551 / “green card” at the time of application to be eligible to apply
